Nocturne: Parthenon, Athens

The Parthenon is usually presented to us outside the building footprint. It is rarely depicted from within, where one can look out upon the city below and the Mediterranean beyond. This late evening view captures a bygone time before reconstruction efforts and Athens’ sprawl across all of the land between the Acropolis and the sea.
