Facade: Palazzo Priuli, Venice

The elevation of this palazzo, now a hotel, is impossible to see as depicted. The canal before it is narrow and the building opposite has no outdoor walkway in front. The detective work of piecing together the elevation from oblique three-dimensional photos was rewarding as it revealed the beauty of the asymmetrical design and the variety of idiosyncratic details that contribute to the whole composition.
